The high school years

Reginald Arvizu (bass) -- Born Nov. 2, 1969. Attended Highland High School. Played in Ragtyme and L.A.P.D. before joining Korn. Nickname is "Fieldy," a truncation of "Garfield," which he earned as a youngster with chipmunk-fat cheeks.
Jonathan Davis (vocals, bagpipes) -- Born Jan. 18, 1971. Attended Highland High School. Played in Bakersfield band SexArt before joining Korn. Nickname, of which he has a tattoo, is "HIV." It's a throwback to when high schoolers would tease that Davis was gay and probably had the AIDS virus.
James Shaffer (guitar) -- Born June 6, 1970. Attended East High School. Played in L.A.P.D. before joining Korn. Nickname is "Munky" for his monkeylike feet.
David Silveria (drums) -- Born Sept. 21, 1972. Attended South High School. Silveria doesn't like his nickname; his bandmates have taken to calling him "Pretty Boy."
Brian Welch (guitar) -- Born June 19, 1970. Attended East High School. Played in Ragtyme before joining Korn. Nickname is "Head" because of his too-big-for-hats head.
