Students sing, speak at graduation

Kern Valley High School's graduation Thursday included student entertainment. Rather than having a valedictorian, the 137 graduates selected two of their peers to sing and two to speak.

"We have our senior class president who speaks and then the students vote on other singers and speakers," said Matt Watkins, dean of students.

The 7 p.m. graduation took place on the school's football field.
